Book Summary
The present book synthesizes the study done on paramedic professionals and their occupational burnout, resilience, and social support. It provides an integrated view of the paramedic profession through the lens of psychology. The book investigated the relationships between resilience, social support, and occupational burnout among male and female nursing professionals. The book found that there was no significant relationship between resilience and occupational exhaustion or depersonalization, but there was a significant positive relationship between resilience and personal accomplishment. Furthermore, there was a significant positive relationship between social support and all three sub-scales of occupational burnout (exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal accomplishment). The book also examined gender differences and found that female nursing professionals had significantly higher levels of resilience and social support than male nursing professionals. Additionally, female nursing professionals had significantly lower levels of occupational burnout (exhaustion and depersonalization) than male nursing professionals.
